Name: Dave Wreakes

Job Title: Commercial Manager

I started at Albion in November 2015 as Senior Sales Administrator before being promoted to Commercial Manager in April 2019.

Role at Albion: I oversee the Sales team, ensuring that they provide the first-class service that you have come to expect from Albion! I also oversee and assist the Contracts Support team to make sure that the service that contractors and consultants receive is seamless, and that project information is turned around in a timely and efficient manner.

Experience: I have over 18 years’ experience in sales, and I have also done a bit of purchasing over the years too!

Interests: In my spare time I enjoy going on bike rides with friends and family. Once a year, I complete a charity bike ride, although the routes differ, it tends to be around 65-70 miles. This year we cycled from Humber Bridge to Barnsley and we raised money for the cancer ward at Sheffield Hallam Hospital.

Job Title: Senior Sales Administrator

Started at Albion in March 2019

Experience: I have over 15 years’ experience working in sales and customer services, as a chatty and bubbly person this is my perfect role! I love nothing more than building rapport with customers and I believe this is the key to providing exceptional customer service! In one of my previous roles I even won the ‘Best Customer Service Advisor’ award.

Interests: I love spending time with my family and friends, and especially long walks in the countryside with my husband and my dog, Lola (Labrador).

Started at Albion in January 1995!

Experience – I have been at Albion since the company was founded in Barnsley 26 years ago! In those early days I was involved in all business functions, from invoicing to orders and everything in between! It has been a pleasure to watch the company start from scratch and grow to where it is now, it is unrecognisable when compared to where we began! Although the company has grown exponentially over the years, it still has the same family-feel, it’s a very relaxed and sociable place to work! It really is my home from home!

Name: Robyn Povey

Job Title: Internal Sales Administrator

I started working at Albion in August 2018.

Background: I started at Albion as an apprentice studying Business Admin at 18 years old, after passing my qualification I became a fully fledged member of the sales team! Prior to this, I held a couple of part-time roles in the hospitality and retail industries whilst attending school and college.

Interests: In my free time I love to eat chinese food and watch a good movie or boxset! My favourite actor at the moment is Stephen Graham!

Name: Bailey Robinson

My job role is Internal Sales Administrator.

I started at Albion in November 2020 as an apprentice, since then I have passed my apprenticeship with a distinction, and I am now enjoying my time as an integral part of the sales team.

Background: Before starting my apprenticeship in Business Admin at Albion, I studied A-Levels in Maths, Physics and Business Studies at Barnsley Sixth Form College. Whilst I was studying, I held a couple of roles within the hospitality sector, waitering and assisting in the kitchen.

Name: Richard MacMillan

Job Title: Internal Sales Administrator

Started at Albion in April 2021.

Experience: I have 15 years’ experience in sales and customer service, which also include a number of years within the valve industry! During my career I have had experience managing a team where I was responsible for maintaining service levels and relationships, with I feel fits in with Albion’s ethos perfectly!

Interests: In my spare time I am an avid supporter of the Elsecar Main FC – both Under 9’s and Under 7’s!

Name: Daniel Megson

Job Title: Internal Sales Administrator

Started at Albion in April 2021.

Experience: I started working in the building services industry at 18 years old and have never left! I have worked for many merchants in the industry over the years, in both internal and external roles. Not only do I have extensive experience in all things valves, but due to my varied roles I also have a wider understanding of the building services industry in general.

Interests: When I’m not in work I like going out to the cinema, playing snooker & watching formula 1.

Name: Ellie Fletcher

My job role is Apprentice Sales Administrator.

I joined Albion in April 2022 as an apprentice.

Role at Albion: I am responsible for the invoicing, filing and providing daily turnover figures. As a new starter, I am still working towards preparing quotes, processing orders and answering calls and emails. All whilst completing my apprenticeship in Business Admin.

Background: I have spent my first couple of years outside of school working within the retail industry, which I enjoyed thoroughly, before seeking a new challenge.

Interests: I have a passion for cars and horses!

Job Title: Technical Manager

I started at Albion in September 2021.

Role at Albion: As Technical Manager my key role within the business is to provide support to our internal and external sales team and assist our customers with both technical support and site issues.

Background: I have over 35 years’ experience working within Technical Engineering and Quality Manager roles within an environment of advanced manufacturing formerly within the plastics and rubber industry and more latterly with a large tube, fittings, and valve manufacturer.

Name: Peter McGrath

Job Title: Regional Contracts Manager

I first started working for Albion in 2010 where I spent 4 years as their Southern Area Sales Manager, I then left the company to pursue another opportunity before re-joining Albion again in August 2018 as Regional Contracts Manager!

Role at Albion: Seeing Contractors to promote Albion Valves and then working with them on projects / contracts.

Experience: I have worked in valve supply industry for over 30 years with various distributors and merchants in the industry.

Interests: Films, geography, walking, CrossFit and weightlifting.

Fun Fact: In April 2021 I walked nearly 800km making me 12th in the world for the most KM walked in that month.

Job Title: Project Coordinator

I started at Albion in April 2021. I was appointed to be the intermediary between suppliers, contractors, the contracts support team and external sales reps.

Experience: Before joining Albion, I worked in the Electrical sector, gaining many years of experience as Store Manager and Operations Manager, which probably explains why I am a bit of a ‘Smart Home Geek’ and love all smart home technology!

Interests: Outside of work, I love to go on date nights with my wife, go on weekend adventures with my two boys, and play football with the lads or catch up with them over some food!

I started working for Albion in February 2008.

Experience – After joining Albion with zero knowledge of the industry. I speant 7 years working in Internal Sales before being given the opportunity to work as an external Area Sales Manager, which I thoroughly enjoy. I love getting out and about and meeting customers old and new!

Role at Albion: I Look after Albion’s network of stockists and distributors in the South.

Experience: I started in the industry at an independent pump distributor, moving onto a global heating valve specialist. However, I preferred the independent style and joined Albion just over 6 years ago.

Background: I have a degree in Sport Science (very useful for the valve industry…)

Interests: I am passionate about running and the outdoors and can often be found running very long distances, over hills and mountains for fun, but also for charity.

I started working for Albion in December 2021.

Role at Albion: I hold a bit of a hybrid role in that I am the main point of contact for distributors, contractors and consultants within my area, I like to think of it as a technical sales role!

Background: I have 35 years’ experience in the construction industry and more specifically 19 years’ experience in HVAC!!

Interests: In my younger years I was a black belt in judo! Nowadays, I enjoy golf and walking my two dogs.

Name: Jason Thomas

Job Title: UAE-Based Sales Director for Albion Valves (International) Ltd

Started at Albion as an employee in January 2019 and did some consultancy work for them before this.

Role at Albion: I am responsible for all export markets with a primary focus on the Middle East, Africa and Indian Subcontinent. I am responsible for establishing distribution networks in all export markets, and work with those partners to develop specifications and approvals with designers, developers, and end clients.

Background: I have lived in the Middle East from a very early age. I began working in Dubai in 1990 after finishing my education, and have been in the valve industry ever since. During that time I worked for many of the leading valve manufacturers in the building services, waterworks, oil and gas sectors.

Fun fact: I enjoy reading, swimming, travelling, and rugby (though only as a supporter these days, and some may argue never as a player!)

I started working for Albion in June 2017, I was the only UK-based employee of Albion Valves (International) Ltd until 2019.

Role at Albion: I am the main point of contact for all of our customers, I arrange all transport, documentation, customs paperwork and invoicing, and also liaise with factories on production.

About Me: After spending over 20 years at the mercy of customs and shipping partners, I would love nothing more than to have a superpower which enables me to deliver goods in the click of my fingers – it really would help me to provide the world-class service that I strive for!

Interests: I enjoy visiting unusual places; I have had afternoon tea at the top of Mount Fuji and I have fed a toucan in the rainforest of Belize!

Role at Albion: My role at Albion is to provide top class service to customers across the world, offering them a timely and efficient service despite the time difference! I am also working to complete my apprenticeship in Business Admin.

Interests: In my spare time I am an amateur musician often recording my own songs, I have been singing for around 4 years and rapping for a couple of years. I also create soundtracks for video games – boss battles, overworld music, character themes, etc.
