Albion Valves (UK) Ltd, one of the UK’s leading valve suppliers, has always attributed its success to their loyal and highly skilled workforce who provide exemplary customer service to its network of independent merchants.
Albion manages to retain such a great team through nurturing existing talent and providing ample opportunities.
So, when a role became available for a Purchasing Assistant, and Justin Wiggan – an important member of the Sales Team – showed interest, the company supported him in his decision to apply.
Justin has worked at Albion for 12 years and in this time has racked up 5 years’ experience in the warehouse and a further 7 years in sales, this has made him a perfect candidate for the purchasing role, as he already has a good understanding of two major operational functions within Albion.
The Purchasing Manager, Andrew Simmons, saw Justin’s potential and decided to offer him the opportunity.
Justin comments: ‘I would like to say a big thank you to all my colleagues and customers who have made my time in sales so enjoyable, I have thoroughly enjoyed the past 7 years and it is all down to the great people that I interact with daily! Having said this, I am looking forward to the challenge ahead. Having worked in both the Warehouse and the Sales Team it has given me the product knowledge and operational understanding that I feel I need to succeed in this role.’
Andrew comments: ‘After 6 successful years at Albion, we are sorry to see Joanne leave to pursue a new opportunity but we wish her the very best in the future. Having said this, I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to fill the void that she will leave with someone I have already worked with for a number of years. I am confident that Justin will be an asset to the purchasing function at Albion. He already has great product, supplier and systems knowledge which sets him in good stead. Although I am sure Justin will leave a big hole in the Sales Team where he is thought highly of by his colleagues and our customers, I look forward to working closely with him and continuing our planned improvements within the purchasing department.’
